Hand off a research document

First select Zas in your AI app. Replace Research with the exact name of an approved channel:
Consolidate this conversation into a single Markdown file named research-handoff.md. Include the findings, assumptions, experiments to run, and open questions. Send the file to my “Research” private channel in Zas. Keep it as a .md file and confirm the saved filename and item ID.
The AI can only consolidate material available in the conversation or through authorized tools. Ask it to mark missing evidence instead of filling gaps with invented findings.
“Private channel” describes the destination; it is not necessarily the channel’s name. If more than one channel matches, choose the destination before sending.

Save a quick note

Save these decisions as a note titled “Next experiment” in my “Research” Zas channel: compare the baseline and candidate on the same dataset, report latency and recall, and preserve the raw results.
Notes need Send permission. The app can write the result without reading existing channel content.

Read before you continue

In my “Research” Zas channel, list the latest items. Read the note called “Next experiment” and summarize the decisions and open questions.
Reading needs Read permission. Listings are bounded; a recent-items list is not a search of every historical item. Ask for a specific item when you know its name.

Send an original file

Send the attached report.pdf to my “Research” channel in Zas. Preserve the original file bytes. Confirm completion with the saved item ID.
Original-file transfers need Read and Send. The AI provider must make the file available to the connector or its code environment. A local filename alone does not grant access to a file.
Sending a PDF and reading its contents are different capabilities. Hosted text reading supports notes, UTF-8 text files, and DOCX body text within the connector’s limits. Do not assume every uploaded format can be interpreted in chat.

Check that it arrived

  1. Wait for a completed send with a saved item ID.
  2. Open the named channel in Zas.
  3. Confirm the title or filename and open the item. For an important original file, download it and compare it with the original.
If the assistant reports a host policy or network block, the task is incomplete. It should explain the failure and keep the original available, rather than silently replacing it with a shortened note.

Keep what matters

Saved items follow Zas expiration and storage limits. Pin an item in Zas when you need to keep it, within your plan’s allowance. Disconnecting the AI app does not delete items it already saved. Fix a failed transfer · Manage permissions
