# Private and Shared Channels in Zas

> Use private channels for yourself and shared channels for trusted groups in Zas. Invite by QR code or link. Channel limits vary by plan.

Channels are where your items live. Your default private channel is for moving things between your own devices. Shared channels let you dispatch files, images, and text to a trusted group.

## Channel types

* **Private channel**: Your personal corridor. Only you can see items here. Every account starts with one.
* **Shared channel**: A group corridor. Invite others by QR code or link. Everyone in the channel sees new items immediately.
