# Use Zas Without an Account: Anonymous Sessions

> Start using Zas instantly with an anonymous session. 30 MB in transit, 2-day expiry, URL as credential. Convert to an account without re-uploading anything.

You do not need an account to use Zas. Anonymous sessions let you send files and text immediately from any browser. Your session URL is your only credential, so keep it safe or convert it to a permanent account when you are ready.

## How anonymous sessions work

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open zas.web">
    Visit [zas.web](https://zas.web) and choose **Continue without account**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send your item">
    Drop a file, paste an image, or type text into the composer. Press **Send**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Access on another device">
    Copy the session URL or scan the QR code to open the same session on another device. The URL is your credential, so do not share it publicly.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Limits

| Feature          | Anonymous session |
| ---------------- | ----------------- |
| In transit       | 30 MB             |
| Item lifetime    | 2 days            |
| Pins             | 0                 |
| Channels         | 1                 |
| Direct Mode file | 5 GB              |

## Convert to an account

When you sign in with Google, your anonymous session converts to a free account automatically. Everything already in transit stays where it is. You do not re-upload anything.

<Note>
  Anonymous sessions are perfect for machines you do not own, like a print-shop computer or a friend’s laptop. This avoids the WhatsApp Web QR problem: you never expose your full account to a device you do not trust.
