# Fix a Zas AI connection

> Recover from missing channels, failed uploads, expired connections, and the wrong integration.

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="The assistant asks me to install Slack">
    Select the installed Zas connection explicitly: **@Zas** in ChatGPT, or **+ → Connectors → Zas** in Claude. Ask it to list approved Zas channels before sending. Slack does not provide access to Zas. If Zas is missing, follow the relevant setup guide.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="My channel is missing">
    Check the signed-in Zas account and whether you selected that channel during approval. Joined channels also need the owner's permission. Organization channels need both admin approvals, an active plan, agents enabled, and current membership. The current picker supports accounts with up to 100 channels and at most 20 selected channels per connection; existing plan and agent limits still apply.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I can send notes but cannot read or send a file">
    Check **Read** and **Send** separately. Notes need Send; reading needs Read; original-file sends currently need both. Reconnect with the intended grants if needed. The assistant cannot grant itself more access.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Claude reports that the upload domain is blocked">
    Where your plan and workspace permit, allow **zas.red** under Claude **Settings → Capabilities**. A connector's OAuth approval does not grant its code sandbox network access. If your organization blocks it, ask its administrator; do not bypass that restriction.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="ChatGPT reports a file safety-status failure">
    This is an AI-host file-access failure. The original may not be available to Zas even though notes work. No completed receipt means no confirmed send. Keep the file, retry through the host's supported attachment flow when available, or upload it directly in Zas. Do not disable safety checks or treat a summary as the original file.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The connection expired or needs attention">
    Open [AI connections](https://zas.red/ai/connect). Check its status and expiry. Finish any pending disconnect, then reconnect from your AI app and approve the channels again. Authorization lasts at most 30 days; automatic renewal does not extend it forever.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A document uploads but the AI cannot read it">
    File delivery does not guarantee text extraction. Hosted reads are bounded at 512 KiB; supported text extraction includes UTF-8 text and DOCX body text, not embedded images. A large PDF can be delivered without being readable through this tool. Use the original in your AI app's supported document reader, or provide an appropriate text version.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The assistant says it sent something, but I cannot find it">
    Ask for the saved item ID and exact destination. An upload permit or progress message is not a final receipt. Open that channel in Zas, check expiration, and avoid repeated new sends while the first result is uncertain. The connector supports retrying the same operation without creating another item.
  </Accordion>

## Contact support

Email [support@zas.red](mailto:support@zas.red) with the AI app, browser, approximate time and timezone, steps, and the visible error. If useful, include a saved item ID. Do not send passwords, tokens, secret share links, private file contents, or unredacted OAuth URLs.
